Personal Symmetrics’ Kathleen Kauffman was thrilled to be a part of the 2023 Kentucky Dragon Boat Festival at AJ Jolly Park on Saturday, Sept. 9, featuring Paddling For Cancer Awareness – p4ca and The Kentucky Thorough-Breasts. Personal Symmetrics sponsored a booth and donated a raffle prize. Attendees stopped by to learn about our exceptional post-mastectomy care and products. It was excellent seeing groups doing #yoga in the morning and cheering on their favorite team! The Kentucky Dragon Boat Festival includes teams of 14-25 people racing dragon boats—large, canoe-like boats—along Campbell County Lake. Paddling for Cancer Awareness and Kentucky Thorough-Breasts are non-profit organizations that seek to defeat cancer and spread cancer awareness through paddling sports. We can never do enough to bring awareness to breast cancer and how women can successfully survive it!

Recently, CFm/American Board Certified post-mastectomy fitter Tammy Franklin and Personal Symmetrics participated in two breast cancer events to not only share their expertise, but also to meet new people and learn about new resources that can be passed along to their breast cancer survivor clients. First, Tammy and Personal Symmetrics participated in the annual Ethicon Breast Cancer Awareness Fair at the Ethicon Endo-Surgery campus in Blue Ash on October 24. The fair provided attendees with information on all aspects of breast cancer. Second, Tammy teamed up with Linda Higgins for the University of Cincinnati Medical Center’s free education event that took place on November 2 at the Kingsgate Marriott Hotel in Cincinnati. Titled, “Breast Health Prevention, Detection and Treatment: Innovations,” this event covered various topics, including genetic testing, high risk evaluation, breast imaging, metastatic breast cancer, immunotherapy, and supportive needs during the breast cancer journey.
